Understanding Incentives

You may know them as rebates, but we call them incentives. The Ameren Missouri BizSavers® program offers several different incentive tracks to provide quick and easy savings, as well as customized solutions for businesses of any size.

Standard Incentives

Standard Incentives are a quick and easy way to receive cash for your energy efficiency upgrades. Incentives are paid on a per unit-installed basis and are available for a variety of qualifying equipment from lighting to refrigeration to Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and HVAC equipment.

Custom Incentives

For energy saving projects that do not fall under a specific Standard Incentive, Custom Incentives are available. Some of the largest incentives ever paid out have been custom projects. Custom Incentives are calculated based on the projected annual energy reduction. These projects require pre-approval before equipment purchase or installation and must pay for themselves in energy savings within the life of the new equipment in order to be eligible.

Retro-Commissioning (RCx)

RCx is intended for large facilities, usually with existing energy management systems. Building systems often become inefficient over time and the BizSavers® program offers RCx incentives to help get your systems back to their most efficient levels. RCx Incentives are unique because they cover costs associated with a business energy audit of the facility.

Business Social Services (BSS)

While you support your community, the Ameren Missouri Business Social Services (BSS) Program is here to support you. The BSS program removes barriers for non-profit, tax-exempt businesses that provide services to the low-income public to earn cash back through a simple and streamlined process. Customers must be classified under the Ameren Missouri Small General Service (2M), Large General Service (3M) or Small Primary Service (4M) electric rate class and must use an approved BSS Service Provider to purchase and install eligible equipment.

The Business Social Services program for the 2024 calendar year has ended due to exhausted funding. All currently approved applications will be honored. Explore Standard, SBDI, and Custom programs to help with your project or reach out to us directly. We look forward to working with you.

Small Business Direct Install (SBDI)

Small businesses can take advantage of enhanced cash incentives through the Small Business Direct Install Program. Small Business (2M Rate Class) customers are eligible to participate in this program by working with an approved Trade Ally. Incentives are capped at $15,000 per customer; however, your business may qualify for additional incentive dollars through another BizSavers incentive program.
